Post Vinum

Intro  |  Friday | Saturday  | Brian Loring | Flotsam | Post Vinum

As things were winding down on Saturday night, Pam Gillikin observed, "This beats most Toledos," and I wouldn't disagree with her, whether she was referring to the number of bottles uncorked, or just the grand spirit of the weekend. This crew feels more like family every time we get together, and the newcomers settled right in like they've been part of the group from the very beginning.

Not just flotsam and jetsam indeed! The food spread was marvelous (Florida Jim described it as "the best food I ever had at an off-line"), with lots of folks (like Larry Meehan and Colonel Bob, right) chipping in and helping out in the kitchen, and there were more wines uncorked than we could possibly drink, which is always good for next year's vinegar. According to Moe, there were "over 100 bottles open for about 22 people" in two days."

Many, many thanks and kudos to Chris and Cathy Gross for opening their home for this marvelous two day event, and to all of the participants for their friendship and contributions to a most delightful weekend. Would that we could do the same some weekend next July.
