The Concept | The Wines | The Lunch | Winemaker Interviews Conclusions and such The Stags Leap District has its own "sense of place". The wines tend to be fruit forward and pleasurable, the tannins physiologically ripe, smooth and polished. I doubt I could taste one Stags Leap wine blind and identify it as such, but as I said at the beginning of all this, the common thread is found neither in the aromas nor in the flavors - it is textural.Robert Sinskey Vineyards is a winery you should visit. Walk around, take some pictures, enjoy the views, taste some good wines. Many thanks to Rob, Stephanie and all the other folks at RSV for an extraordinary day. The Stags Leap District Winegrowers Association is a class act. David Campbell and Nancy Bialek are doing a great job with this organization. Pete Danko connected me into this event. He handles PR for a number of wineries, but even more importantly, he's a great guy. Thanks, Pete. Maria Helm-Sinskey is an enormously talented lady. If you visit Napa Valley, you can avail yourself of her skills at RSV, where she regularly conducts cooking classes and serves special wine dinners. You can learn more about that on the RSV website. If a visit here is not in your plans, you can soon add some of her knowledge and talent to your bookshelf. It is time to put the Stags Leap District on your wine country radar. califusa Left Coast Correspondent to the Gang of Pour
