The
Gang makes no secret of our fondness for the wines of Ridge
Vineyards. In fact, we rather flaunt it, as is apparent
to folks familiar with our site.
Ridge
has been making great wines, especially Cabernet Sauvignon
and Zinfandel for decades, and winemaker Paul Draper has been
honored the world over for his deft hand in crafting such
consistent masterpieces as Monte Bello, Geyserville and Lytton
Springs.
For
those of you who share our love of these wines, we hope that
consolidating these tasting notes in one area will provide
easier access to our impressions of "Mr. Ridge."
We have chosen to include notes on Lytton Springs Winery bottlings
in this section, not only because Ridge actually made the
last few vintages under that label, but also because of the
historical ties between the two producers, as detailed in
califusa's fascinating interview
with Lytton Spring's founder, Richard Sherwin. The entire
article, Homage to Lytton Springs,
may be found here.
Enjoy!
